Our Veterinarians

Dr. Horton was born in Toronto, but raised on a farm from ages seven to seventeen in Peterborough where the desire to become a veterinarian was born. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, class of 1973. He has owned the Colborne Veterinary Clinic since 1981 and the Delhi Animal Office since 1979. He sold the Delhi office in November 2005 to focus entirely on the Colborne practice.  Initially working in mixed practice, he now focuses on companion animals. His areas of special interest are orthopedics, dentistry and other surgeries, although is involved with every aspect of the practice. He has been married to Judy since 1973 and they have two children, Kaley and Tyler, and one unbelievable grandson, Karsten, born in 2000.  As of May 2008, Judy and I now enjoy the company of our granddaughter, Isabella. The Horton’s also enjoy the company of their two cats, Thunder and Lightning and also two Shih Tsu pups named Emi  and Gryphon.  What a humorous pair they have turned out to be. The newest news is that there are two more grandchildren expected in early 2010, a boy and a girl.
